these were the pictures i was talking about earlier. in retrospect i guess i realize that at this point it's pretty silly but i'd like to develop cooler costumes eventually, so i'm posting in hopes i can get some suggestions. ALRIGHT! the deal is i was gonna try and think up a ~steampunk persona, you know, some sort of personality or life story to base costumes around. HOWEVER! my clothes aren't very steampunk at all, so it ended up more, uh...well, shit, i don't know what it ended up as.

the backstory i thought up is there's a fourteen year old girl named katherine endicott in prohibition-era brooklyn, right? and she's fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight a moe-moe schoolgirl during the day but along with her three older brothers, she RUNS A SPEAKEASY BY NIGHT!!!! drama! action! adventure! yeah i fucked around with the clothes i had in my closet but i'm pretty sure 99% of this is historically inaccurate.

I'm too lazy to do a full Katsucon writeup, so here, have some bullet points and pictures.

- there was so much stuff in the dealers room but none of it was for my fandoms, waaaah
- I met murasakidoku! (she cosplayed NiGHTS~)
- A SURPRISING AMOUNT OF PEOPLE RECOGNIZED ME AS YOITE!
- And I met another Yoite cosplayer! who was way better than me bawwww
- there was a Gurren Lagann panel, shit was AWESOME. (and I got one of the trivia questions right but I was too shy to raise my hand waaaah)

- saw snacks
- and I guess as payback for that, I totally missed everybody else I was looking for
- uh, my friend Rose got called "fanservice girl" for cosplaying Sailor Moon accurately :|
- got invited to a room party...and then didn't go. *headdesk*

- bought $18 worth of Japanese candy. good use of money!
- ate at the maid cafe. a lot of people there were playing Hungry Hungry Hippos, possibly because they empathized?

So, in a subconscious attempt to leave no doubt in any mind that I'm a hopeless nerd, I went to an anime convention. Yeah, you heard that right, an anime convention. And guess what?

Also I've been playing the Sims 2 so much lately. I want to start a legacy challenge but the only problem with that is, I haaaaaate Townies - plus I am addicted to the 'motherlode' cheat.

As all of you (most of you? some of you?) know, I think cosplay is ¡fantastico! However, a lot of it is complete shit, so ITT I will illustrate the differences between good cosplay and bad cosplay.
