Oh also I just found out that Nails is a real German-based last name. I guess Nagel would be the actual German form? But idk Ive just been on a hack translation streak recently so here are some cool tweets

In more pleasant news, Giovanni's legs have been getting steadily longer and thinner. Like, dude, check this shit out. Giovanni is starting to rival Naoto in terms of leg deliciousness.

Alright that's my daily dose of fagging about Dogs, I should probably shut the fuck up now.

Oh, P.S. - no word on Badou. I'm going to kill myself if this gets dragged out for another like five months.

Looking at figurines has made me so sad that I have barely any money. If I ever get extremely rich I am buying Emily a million outfits and then buying myself a million figurines.

In other news, it astounds me how much serious discussion can still be had over Death Note. Re: second arc, Emily and I take different sides on who's to blame for the semi-failure of L's successors. (SPOILER: Well, ultimately they succeeded, but not without the cost of the lives of 2/3 of the top three students.)

So those of you that are familiar with Death Note, what do you think? Obviously this is putting it in ultra-simplistic terms, but was it "Near's fault" or "Mello's fault"?

- Is Freuhling the first Naoto? They bear a physical resemblance, and it's strange that Freuhling fights with a sword instead of firearms like most other Cerberus people.
- And if that's so, does Freuhling have a Cerberus spine or not? It seems like she would because she's working under Einstellsehn, but if she was raised as a swordsman by Fuyumine, wouldn't that have put her as too old to undergo the surgery and training to be one of Einstellsehn's soldiers?
- What's with Giovanni's eyes? In one of the earlier chapters he says that he wished he could have seen Lily's blood with "these eyes", implying that his eyes changed somehow. He has scars, so does that mean he underwent some kind of surgery or further modification to his vision? If so, what's the purpose?
- And it's been alluded to several times that Bishop can sense or see things while still being blind - could Giovanni and Bishop have the same eyes? Or maybe, since Bishop was the first, Giovanni's eyes are an improvement on Bishops? Or Bishop's operation failed and left him blind, but Giovanni's was successful?
- WHY DOES HAINE HAVE EAR PIERCINGS WHEN HIS BODY ALWAYS HEALS?
- AND WHY DOES GIOVANNI HAVE SCARS ON HIS FACE WHEN HIS BODY ALWAYS HEALS TOO?
- Is Dave still alive? Badou said that he's dead, but the man he was talking to asked if he was still alive. Is Badou in denial or lying? Did Dave get sucked into the underground, or did he join forces with Einstellsehn's people?
- Is Einstellsehn herself a recipient of the spine? It's been shown that she's aged, but we don't know whether the people with the spine age physically but just can't be killed, or whether they're stereotypically immortal.
- Is Freuhling the person who killed Naoto's parents? If I'm not mistaken, Naoto had a flashback-type scene in which Freuhling's face appeared. It would make sense, too, since Freuhling seems older than Naoto (putting her at the right age to kill Naoto's family when Naoto was a child), she uses a sword, and she doesn't have qualms about killing.
- What's with Noki and Luki? Are they newer versions of Einstellsehn's soldiers? Why do they have such heavy modifications? And why are they under the care of Freuhling, when Giovanni and Haine were still in the orphanage-type place at that age?
- How did Giovanni finally win enough of Einstellsehn's respect to be able to work in such a high position in her regime? In the latest chapter, it seems like he's commanding at least a part of the underground's army. If he had continued to refuse to train, that wouldn't have happened. So did he finally give up and start syncing with the spine? Did that happen before or after Haine went on his rampage?
- If Haine killed "everyone, even the professors," how were there still enough people to continue the facility's operations? Did Einstellsehn just start new with another batch of professors and children? Why did she let Haine go instead of neutralizing the threat, or even better, using him to her advantage?
- And again, if Haine killed everyone, why is Giovanni still alive? Is it that Haine didn't like Giovanni enough to put him out of his misery?
- In the DOGS world, it's said that the seasons don't exist anymore. Is this because of nuclear winter? Badou mentioned that there were a lot of telephone wires before the 'war' (or whatever it is that happened - I'll refer to it as a war for now), so that would put it at a time before the advent of wireless communication. Maybe it was the Cold War gone wrong?
- By the last names, it seems like DOGS is taking place in a city in Germany, possibly Berlin. The big tower shown in background shots could be Fernsehturm Berlin, which finished construction in 1969, so whatever war that happened didn't happen until at least then - again, putting it in the Cold War era.
